WCYVR 2016 Recap

WordCamp Vancouver 2016 was another successful event thanks to the efforts of many people.

We’d like to start by thanking our generous sponsors whose financial support made this event possible:

Venue Sponsor: BCIT
Orca Sponsors: BoldGrid, Bluwhost, Jetpack, RED Academy, WooCommerce
Black Bear Sponsors: Go Daddy, Pantheon
Eagle Sponsors: Clearly, DreamHost, WPML, Plesk, Sparkjoy Studios
Chinook Sponsors: Prospress, Clever Banana Studios
Beaver Sponsors: Eggbeater Creative, Sticker Giant, Green Geeks

We would also like to thank all the wonderful volunteers who gave their time to ensure the day of the event went smoothly.

The speakers this year were all amazing. We want to thank them all for their top notch presentations.

Since WordCamp Vancouver is run as a non-profit event under the WordPress foundation’s umbrella, we’d like to share our final budget numbers with the community. This is just another step by which the WordPress community demonstrates its openness and transparency:

Budget

If you missed a talk you really wanted to see, or just wanted to take another look at a code example or another detail, we’re pleased to let you know that all of the talks in the two main tracks were recorded and will be published on WordPress.tv within the next few weeks. We’ll send everyone an email once those videos are available.

Buy WCYVR Tickets by Friday to Guarantee Shirt Size

We’ve got an awesome t-shirt swag item at WordCamp Vancouver this year, but in order to guarantee that you get your desired size you’ll need to purchase your ticket by Friday, August 12th at 9:00am.

If you purchase your ticket after this date/time, you’ll still be able to pick up a t-shirt at the registration table, but will have to pick a shirt from a limited selection of sizes the morning of the event (on a first come, first serve basis).

Tickets for WordCamp are only $25 and include access to the day’s talks and the after party in the evening, a delicious lunch, and other great swag items (stickers anyone…?).

Don’t delay! Buy your tickets here.

WordCamp Vancouver 2016

Welcome to the new site for WordCamp Vancouver 2016, a conference that focuses on everything WordPress! This year’s conference will have both developer and business tracks, as well as a track for newcomers to WordPress.

It will take place at BCIT downtown on Saturday, August 27th, 2016.

Sponsors: In order to be able to fund WordCamp Vancouver, we need the community’s help. If you’re a WordPress-based business, use WordPress, or just love WordPress, please consider sponsoring WordCamp.

Speakers: What good would WordCamp be without great presentations? If you’re interested in speaking, please apply on our speaker page.

Volunteers: We need day-of volunteers to help out with all sorts of things; the event just wouldn’t be possible without some friendly faces to give us a little help. Take a look at our volunteering page.

Stay tuned, everyone! More info will be coming soon. If you’d like to get updates as we make them available, please subscribe below.
